1. On-site situation
PDAs lost connection in shadow areas between racks, frequently halting picking work. CCTV also had many blind spots, leading to repeated loss disputes.
2. Deployment scope
| Network | All-around WiFi coverage (22 APs) |
|---|---|
| Video Security | 40 VIGI CCTV cameras |
| Environment | Temperature and humidity IoT monitoring |
3. How we solved it
- Designed antenna angles toward rack aisles — eliminated shadow areas
- Roaming optimization eliminates disconnections while PDAs are on the move
- Resolved over 90% of blind spots by redesigning CCTV placement
- Real-time temperature and humidity monitoring in refrigerated and room-temperature zones with deviation alerts
4. Results
| PDA Disconnection | 8 cases per hour → 0 cases |
|---|---|
| Loss Disputes | 2–3 cases per month → 0 cases |
| Temperature and Humidity Deviation | Instant notification operation |
"Since picking no longer gets interrupted, daily throughput has noticeably increased."
